Norton Rose
The law firm has appointed renewable energy finance specialist Antje Günther as a partner in the firm’s Frankfurt office. Günther, who joins from DLA Piper, where she has worked since 2006, represents financial institutions, corporates and funds in domestic and cross-border transactions. Norton Rose opened a third German office in Hamburg on 1 May, with seven newly appointed partners and one additional partner joining from the firm’s London office.
McKay Securities
Giles Salmon has joined the property development and investment group to succeed Alan Childs as finance director, effective from August. Salmon was formerly finance director of BAA Lynton, the commercial property arm of British Airports Authority.
Barclays Wealth
The wealth management firm has appointed Carole Cheung as managing director, senior client partner, based in Hong Kong. Cheung, who has been promoted from the position of managing director, relationship management, will focus on managing the relationships of ultra high net worth clients in Asia.
Weir Group
The engineering group has appointed Melanie Gee to the board as a non-executive director. Gee is a managing director in Lazard’s UK investment banking business and was previously a managing director at UBS.
Bluefin
Bluefin Wealth Management has appointed Chris Durnian as a financial planner, based in the London office. Durnian joins from Lloyds Wealth Management, where he was a wealth management adviser.
Cannacord Genuity
The AIM-listed independent broker has recruited Peter Mallin-Jones as director of mining equity research. Mallin-Jones joins from Goldman Sachs, where he was vice president and head of mining and metals research.
Arbuthnot Securities
The investment banking arm of Arbuthnot Banking Group has appointed Michael Loungo as a research director, covering financial services. Loungo joins from Liberum Capital, where he was a research analyst.
Fenchurch Advisory Partners
The specialist investment bank has appointed Guy Miller as managing director. Previously, Miller was head of European financial institutions M&A at Royal Bank of Scotland.
