Hamilton Lane
The independent private equity asset manager has expanded its global investment team by appointing Richard Hope as vice president in the London office. Hope will report to Jim Strang, who recently joined Hamilton Lane as a principal. Prior to joining the firm, Hope was a director at Alliance Trust Equity Partners, where he helped establish a private equity fund investment business. He also previously worked at Noble Group, where he was responsible for venture and growth capital investments.
MKP Capital Management
The asset manager has hired Anthony Simpson as a managing director to focus on European marketing. Simpson was most recently co-head of business development at Financial Risk Management, a London-based fund of hedge funds.
Rathbone
Nick Roe-Ely has been appointed as investment director at Rathbone Investment Management’s Liverpool office. He joins from Xcap Securities, where he was head of asset management; prior to that, he was a senior fund manager and partner at JO Hambro Capital Management.
Heartwood
The independent wealth manager has appointed Gerard Quirke as a non-executive director. Quirke, who was previously deputy chief executive and chief operating officer of Hermes Investment Management, will also act as chairman of the audit, risk and conflicts committee.
Liberty Syndicates
Liberty Syndicate Management has appointed Dan Wilkinson as head of risk management. Wilkinson was most recently interim chief risk officer at Navigators Underwriting Agency.
Persimmon
Mark Preston, the group chief executive of Grosvenor Group, has joined the board of the housebuilder as a non-executive director. Persimmon has also promoted Jeff Fairburn to group managing director, alongside his existing role as north division chief executive.
Telefonica
Mark Evans has been appointed as chief financial officer of Telefonica UK. He joins after spending ten years at Vodafone, where he was most recently chief financial officer in the global technology business.
Banco Itaú BBA
Paul Wilde has joined Banco Itaú BBA International as head of banking and asset liability management. Wilde joins from Newedge, where he was European treasurer. Prior to that, he led the restructuring of ABN’s treasury division for RBS, and was head of UK securitisation at Bank of America.
