Brooks Macdonald Asset Management
The independent private client investment manager with £2.8bn of funds under management has appointed Richard Harley as an intermediary sales manager. Harley previously worked for Hornbuckle Mitchell, where he specialised in SIPP, SSAS and retirement options; prior to that, he worked for Friends Provident as an adviser and AXA Sun Life as a broker consultant. Harley will be responsible for developing professional adviser and intermediary relationships throughout the Midlands.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Bank of America Merrill Lynch has made four senior hires in its EMEA global markets financing & futures business. Daniel Katz joins from Nomura as managing director and head of EMEA stock loan and structured marketing; Ross McDougall joins from Morgan Stanley as a director and head of EMEA stock loan trading; and Martin Donnelly and Simon Key join from Credit Suisse as a director and European head of hedge fund consulting, and a director in the synthetic equity sales team respectively.
Bluefin
Bluefin Corporate Consulting has appointed Federica Gazzelloni as an actuarial analyst in the Bluefin Corporate actuarial team. Gazzelloni joins from Mandeville Group, where he held the same position.
Cairn Capital
The credit asset management and advisory firm has appointed Simon Davies to its structuring and advisory business. Simon joins from investment and advisory firm Blackstone, where he was a managing director.
KPMG
Neil D Miller has joined as KPMG as global head of Islamic finance. Miller joins from the law firm Norton Rose, where he led the company’s global Islamic finance practice.
Towers Watson
The professional services firm has appointed John Machon in the new role of head of business development for the firm’s EMEA retirement solutions business. Machon joins after spending seven years at AonHewitt as chief commercial officer for EMEA. Towers Watson has also combined its three investment research teams into one, to be led by Craig Baker.
Deloitte
The business advisory firm has appointed Simon Owen as managing director of its EMEA enterprise risk services practice, succeeding Chris Verdonck of Deloitte Belgium. Owen takes on the new position in addition to his current roles as lead enterprise risk services partner in the UK and deputy managing director for Deloitte’s global practice.
