CITY MOVES | WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
The Salamanca Group
Jeremy Wrathall has been appointed as managing director of Salamanca Resources, the recently formed division of Salamanca that will focus on the metals and mining sector. He joins from Renaissance Capital, where he was head of investment banking for the London operation and had responsibility for metals and mining, focusing on Africa. In previous roles, Wrathall was global head of mining equities at Deutsche Bank and global head of mining equity sales at UBS.
Baring Asset Management
The investment firm has appointed Alison Huang as an investment manager in its multi-asset team, reporting to Percival Stanion, Barings’ head of asset allocation, and based in London. Huang joins Barings from TT International Investment Management, where she was an equity analyst, investing predominantly in pan-European equities.
Caledonia Investments
Eloise Fox will join Caledonia Investments’ quoted and unquoted pools as an investment executive. Fox most recently worked at EurotaxGlass’s International, a Candover Investment firm based in Zurich. Before this, she was an investment executive at Candover and a due diligence accountant with KPMG in London.
The Ogier Group
James Bergstrom, who relocated to Hong Kong in 2011 to lead Ogier’s Hong Kong office, has been appointed as legal chief executive officer. Nick Kershaw, who previously held both the group chief executive and the legal chief executive roles, continues as the group chief executive, having been elected for a second three-year term.
Ropes & Gray
Matthew Judd has joined the law firm’s London office as a partner in its private investment funds group. Judd moves to Ropes & Gray from White & Case, where he was a partner and head of the investment funds practice.
Opal
The financial services outsourcing company has appointed Alan Hubbard as chief executive. Hubbard is the former chief operating officer of BlackRock in 2007, who joined Opal in the summer of 2011 as managing director.
Brammer
Chairman David Dunn will not stand for re-election at the distribution firm’s AGM on 17 May. Bill Whiteley, non-executive director, who joined the board of Brammer in July 2008 following his retirement as chief executive of Rotork, will be proposed to succeed Dunn. Duncan Magrath, finance director of Balfour Beatty, has been appointed as a non executive director, effective from 1 March.
