Religare Capital Markets
The investment banking and institutional securities arm of emerging markets financial services group Religare Capital Markets has appointed John Sturmey as global head of equity capital markets. Sturmey joins from UBS where he was Head of the Global Capital Markets Group in Asia, overseeing equity and debt capital markets. Sturmey will concentrate on assisting RCML’s corporate clients with bringing their equity transactions to RCML’s institutional investors.
BNP Paribas
The European banking and financial group has appointed Davide Collini as senior director of precious metals sales within its global equities and commodity derivatives business. Collini joins BNP Paribas from Merrill Lynch where he was director of metals sales for the Europe, North Africa and Middle East region.
Douglas Bay Capital
The active value investment company has announced the appointment of Nick Hargrave as investment director. Hargrave was most recently at UBS where he spent six years as a senior telecoms banker. Prior to that he was at Rothschild for five years where he worked in the telecoms investment banking team.
Polar Capital
The specialist investment management company has appointed Su Park to the group’s international sales team and Sarah Nash as marketing manager. Su Park joins Polar Capital from Nomura where she was head of European capital introductions. Park will primarily be supporting Polar Capital’s growing global fund franchise. Nash joins from Neuberger Berman Europe where she was head of marketing services.
Bupa
The healthcare group has appointed John Lorimer to its board as a non-executive director. Lorimer recently retired as group head of compliance and regulatory risk for Standard Chartered, and has over 22 years of commercial banking experience, having held a number of management positions in Citigroup prior to this.
Arma Partners
The technology, media & telecoms M&A advisory firm has appointed Andrés Pieczanski as a partner in the firm’s London office where he will lead the communications technology and semiconductor practice. Pieczanski joins from Jefferies.
