Reech AiM Group
The international asset management group has appointed Daniel Betts as client services director. He joins Reech from Aviva Investors, where he was most recently client relationship manager. He will oversee all client service functions and will report directly to the chief executive officer Christophe Reech.
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership
Neil Tong has joined the asset management company as senior credit research analyst in the fixed income team. Based in Edinburgh, Tong will report to the head of credit research, and will be responsible for industrial sector research activities. He has over 25 years’ investment management experience and joins from Alliance Trust where he was most recently a UK equity fund manager.
Wiggin
The UK media law firm is opening its first international office, which will be headed up by Ted Shapiro, the Motion Picture Associations’s (MPA) current head of legal for Europe in Brussels. At MPA he was involved in most of the major judicial and legislative developments affecting the copyright sector in Europe. The new office in Brussels will open in January and will support Incopro, Wiggin’s new business that launched in March this year.
JO Hambro Investment Management
Edward Novis has been appointed as an investment manager on the charity team at the investment management firm. He has over 20 years’ experience in financial markets, having started his career at Cazenove and Co before joining Morgan Stanley in New York.
Compass Lexecon
Alison Oldale has joined the economics consultancy firm as senior vice president in its Washington DC office. Oldale was chief economist at the UK’s Competition Commission, where she was the agency’s chief economist, but was most recently on secondment as a chief economist at the US Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Economics. Her appointment coincides with a number of senior hires for Compass Lexecon in Europe, including Eudald Canadell as senior vice president in the Madrid office.
Reliance Mutual
The insurance society has announced the appointment of Chris Lerpiniere, head of operations, and Cameron Mills, chief actuary to the board as executive directors. Both appointments have been approved by the FSA. Lerpiniere joined the society in 2008 and has been responsible for client and policy technical servicing; Mills joined in 2009 and has had responsibility for actuarial functions.
