BNP Paribas Real Estate
Mike Chadburn has been appointed senior director of international investment at the real estate division of BNP Paribas. He was previously the UK partner to Azimuth Global Partners, where he sourced and acquired UK assets for Malaysian and Korean investors. Chadburn has also previously worked as director of Central London acquisitions at ING REIM.
Barclays
Francis Essem Wood has been appointed managing director for wealth and investment management at the banking group. Based in London, he will focus on the West Africa market. Essem Wood joins from JHX Management, where he was responsible for developing African relationships. He has previously held roles at Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch.
Eversheds
The law firm has appointed Lesley Farrell as a partner in its EU, competition and regulatory group. She joins from SJ Berwin, where she was a competition partner. Farrell is a specialist in competition litigation, particularly in cartel damages actions before the High Court and the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Seymour Pierce
The investment bank has made several senior hires. Georgia Law joins as head of compliance from Panmure Gordon, where she worked for 5 years. David Edwards joins from Williams De Broe as head of charity investment management. He has also held roles at Investec and Singer & Friedlander Investment Management. Finally, Paul Mylchreest joins as a research strategist. He has also worked for SG Warburg, Credit Lyonnais and JP Morgan.
SWIP
The investment management firm has appointed Calum Smith to the newly-created role of head of global aggregate in its fixed income team. He joins from BlackRock, where he was most recently a director and senior fixed income strategist. Smith has over 17 years’ experience in investment management and has also held roles at Aegon and Templeton Investment Management.
BlackRock
The investment management firm has appointed Patrick Liedtake to lead its financial institutions group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, effective 1 October. He joins from The Geneva Association, the insurance industry think tank, where he was secretary general and managing director. Liedtake has been involved in multiple financial, economic and academic networks over his 20 year career.
