Fat Prophets
The independent research and fund management specialist has promoted David Thang from senior technical analyst to senior trading strategist. Thang joined Fat Prophets in 2009 as senior technical analyst in Australia. He started his career in Melbourne at Goldman Sachs JBWere in the institutional equities and money market proprietary traders division, before moving to Sydney to work as an analyst at BNP Paribas and then as a senior analyst at AMP Capital Investors.
Sciens
Sciens Fund of Funds Management Holdings has promoted Rhian Lloyd from assistant general counsel to the dual roles of chief operating officer, managed accounts and general counsel, managed accounts. Sciens has also hired James McNeillie and Filippo Brera, previously at National Australia Bank and Goldman Sachs respectively, as legal counsels for the managed account platform.
BDO Forensics Services
The law firm has appointed Merryck Lowe as a partner in the London forensic services team. Prior to joining BDO, Merryck was the founding managing director of Alvarez & Marsal’s European forensic services business.
Liquidnet
The institutional trading network has appointed three industry leaders to its board of directors. The appointments are Lawrence S Bacow, an economist and former president of Tufts University; Roel Campos, a former commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); and Lady Barbara Thomas Judge, a banker, lawyer and regulator who served as an SEC commissioner.
Hamptons International
Oliver Wilkinson, formerly in the sales and marketing department of Johnson & Johnson Medical, has joined as account manager in the corporate and relocations services department.
Berwin Leighton Paisner
The law firm has hired Aidan Thomson as a partner to extend its environmental and insurance service. Thomson was previously head of environment at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, where he joined the partnership in 2003.
Sacker & Partners
The law firm has hired Joanna Smith and Sarah Henderson as solicitors. Smith joins from Hogan Lovells International, where she was a senior associate in the pensions group, and Henderson joins from SNR Denton, where she was a trainee solicitor.
Royal London Asset Management
The fund manager has appointed Grant Hadland, formerly consultant relationship director at Fidelity International, as head of consultant relationships in its institutional business development team.
