Bellzone Mining
The resource development company has appointed Glenn Baldwin as its next chief executive, effective 3 September. He joins from Consolidated Minerals, where he has been chief executive since September 2010, and replaces Nik Zuks. Baldwin has previously held senior roles at Gold Fields, Ivanhoe Nickel and Platinum, Southern Era Diamonds and Anglo American.
Grant Thornton
Andrew Cockman has been appointed as national director in the entrepreneurial and private client team at the business advisory firm. He was previously a director at Deloitte, where he worked on capital tax issues. Cockman is actively involved in shaping tax legislation through membership of representative bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Cazenove Capital
The specialist investment management firm has announced the appointment of Paul Battams as a portfolio manager. He joins from Lloyds TSB Private Banking, where he was most recently an equity analyst at its Geneva office. Battams will report to Euan Dangerfield, head of Cazenove Capital’s private wealth management team in Jersey.
Acxiom
The data and marketing services company has appointed Christian Peck as vice president and UK managing director. He will report to Nada Stirratt, Acxiom’s chief revenue officer. Peck joins from AOL Europe, where he was vice president of business operations, technology and products. He has also held senior posts at Microsoft and Zed Media.
Secure Property Development & Investment
Harin Thaker has been appointed as a non-executive director of the south-east Europe-focused property and investment firm. He has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, and joins from Deutsche Pfandbriefbank, where he was head of real estate finance international. Thaker was also previously chief executive of Hypo Real Estate Bank.
WH Ireland
Richard Merry has joined the stockbroking and wealth management group as head of sales trading, based in London. He was previously a partner at Oriel Securities, and has also served as head of global dealing at Framlington Investment Management. Tim Feather also joins WH Ireland as corporate finance director. He was most recently director and head of corporate finance at Westhouse Securities.
Russell-Cooke
Jeremy Sivyer has joined the law firm as a partner in its London-based commercial team. He joins from Simmons & Simmons, where he was a former head of its commercial group. Sivyer focuses on emerging markets, particularly India and West Africa, and is honorary legal adviser to the Business Council for West Africa.
