JC Rathbone Associates
Risk management consultancy JC Rathbone Associates (JCRA) has appointed Shripal Shah as director of real estate debt advisory. Shripal will join JCRA in August following 12 years at HSBC where he was head of real estate finance for the UK and the Middle East. At HSBC he was involved in number of high-profile transactions, including Wood Wharf – Canary Wharf Group’s £620m residential development and Principle Place Tower – Brookfield and Concord Pacific’s £244m joint venture. Shripal’s appointment complements JCRA’s recent acquisition of an eight-person team from Canaccord Genuity which specialises in social housing associations and bond advisory.
DIAM International
DIAM International, the UK arm of Asian asset manager DIAM, has announced the appointment of Frederic de Merode as director, business development. Based in London, Frederic joins the business development team which is responsible for servicing clients throughout EMEA. Frederic brings over 20 years of experience in the wholesale and institutional market, having held a number of senior positions within the industry. Most recently, he was director of global client solutions and global financial institutions at Aviva Investors. Prior to this, Frederic was a senior consultant at Elston Consulting, having formerly held the position of director of international accounts at MFS International.
BDO LLP
Russell Field, a UK audit partner, has been appointed global head of real estate and construction at accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP. His appointment follows the retirement of Solly Benaim on 1 July, who has spent 39 years at the firm. Russell Field has more than 30 years real estate and FTSE experience. He will lead the global team focusing on delivering specialised assurance, tax and advisory services to support the evolving needs of the real estate market.
Kensington Mortgages
Kensington Mortgages has announced the appointment of Gemma Lang as business development manager to grow adviser relations in its London north region. Gemma replaces Paul Weatherhogg, who is now Kensington’s key account manager for specialist distribution. Gemma joins after three years as a business development manager at Virgin Money. Prior to joining Virgin, Gemma worked as a branch manager at Leeds Building Society and Santander, and also held roles at Nationwide and Barclays, giving her a total of 12 years’ banking experience.
