Barbican-based global brand consultancy Industry has appointed Nada El Barshoumi as lead brand consultant for the Middle East and North Africa Region. Prior to joining Industry, Nada was a partner at Bahrain-based PR and design agency Obai & Hill, where she was employed for more than three years. She has worked with a wide range of clients across the GCC, Middle East and Europe, including Subway, McDonald’s and Mercedes-Benz.
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has announced that James Bremen will join the firm as a partner and chair of the construction practice based in the London office and will divide his time between London and Qatar. James had been a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills and has more than 15 years of experience with some of the world’s largest construction disputes. James has represented clients in more than 25 countries in claims’ resolutions. He has over 10 years of experience in advising Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on major infrastructure projects and disputes, as well as regularly representing clients in other emerging markets, in particular Malaysia and countries in the former Soviet Union.
PwC Legal
PwC Legal has added to its corporate offering by appointing Stephen Richards as a senior manager in the corporate group in London. Stephen joins from Laytons where he was a partner in the corporate and commercial team. Stephen has nearly 10 years’ experience working in corporate law. He has a broad practice, encompassing corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions, equity investments and joint ventures. He will add to the team’s extensive sector expertise in both wealth and asset management (where he will work alongside recent hire Oliver Williams) and technology – where he joins Thomas Colmer who has recently joined the corporate group as a partner.

Global law firm Paul Hastings has announced that James Taylor has joined the London office as a partner. James joins from Allen & Overy, where he was a counsel and worked in both the London and Frankfurt offices. His practice covers general corporate lending, and real estate, leveraged and acquisition finance throughout the EMEA region. He has significant origination, syndication and restructuring experience involving both public and private borrowers. In particular, he has acted on a wide range of real estate finance products, including senior/mezz and A/B facilities, share and asset acquisitions and disposals (such as non-performing loan portfolio acquisitions), refinancings and development financings.
