Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has announced that Kate Vernon will join the firm as a partner based in the London office. Kate had been a partner at DLA Piper where she was head of the UK competition team. Kate has represented clients in both follow-on and standalone competition claims in the English High Court. She has also done appeals from and judicial reviews of decisions of competition and regulatory authorities in London and Luxembourg. Kate has significant experience in advising and representing clients in competition investigations, both infringement and sector inquiries, and providing general counselling advice.
Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer Europe, a subsidiary of Oppenheimer Holdings, has announced the appointment of Daniel Krsicka as executive director, consumer investment banking, as it continues to build its consumer team in Europe. Daniel will report to Jeroen van den Heuvel, managing director and European head of consumer investment banking. He joins Oppenheimer with more than 10 years’ investment banking experience centred on the European consumer sector. Daniel will be based in London. He started his investment banking career at Dresdner Kleinwort in 2005 before joining Rothschild and then Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Before joining Oppenheimer, Daniel worked as vice president at Houlihan Lokey within their M&A department.
Olswang
Partner Moni Mannings will be retiring from international law firm Olswang at the end of the month. Over the past few years, Moni has developed a portfolio of roles on commercial and public sector boards, including the FTSE 250 company Polypipe Group, where she is chair of the remuneration committee. Moni founded and built the finance group when she joined Olswang in 2000, and has served in many roles, including on Manboard as part of the management team for more than a decade.
Serle Court
Commercial and chancery set Serle Court has appointed James Weale from 3 Stone Buildings. James will be joining chambers at the end of the month, and follows Richard Wilson and Constance McDonnell who joined Serle Court at the end of February. James was called to the bar in 2007 and has substantial litigation expertise in the High Court and county courts. His work includes commercial and contractual disputes, professional negligence, trusts, wills and probate, insolvency, property and cross-border disputes.
