Shieldpay
London-based fintech firm Shieldpay has announced the appointment of Nick Ogden and Jim Cowles as independent non-executive directors to the company’s board. Nick has founded and led multiple high-profile financial companies, including payments processing company Worldpay, a pioneer in the payments industry which sold earlier this year for $35bn (£28.6bn) to FIS. He is currently founder and director of Clearbank as well as a non-executive director for business financing firm Funding Options. Jim is the former Citi Europe, Middle Eeast and Africa chief executive and has over 30 years of banking and financial services experience. He has recently stepped down from the chief executive role at the bank and will take up his non-exec role at Shieldpay as well as running The Venn Media, a company he set up earlier this year. With decades of financial services and specific payments industry experience, both Nick and Jim bring with them a deep understanding of the sector and add further specialist expertise to the board.
Tissue Regenix
Mike Barker has been appointed chief financial officer of regenerative medical devices company Tissue Regenix. Mike will join an executive director on the board with immediate effect having supported Tissue Regenix since the beginning of the year as interim finance director. Mike has experience of both Aim-listed and private businesses. After training with Deloitte, he spent 10 years in their corporate finance advisory business, working extensively on private equity transactions before setting up his own consultancy to assist small and medium-sized enterprises in the delivery of their strategic plans. Mike has worked closely with the management team of Quantum Pharma.
The Law Debenture Corporation
Claire Finn has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Law Debenture Corporation, effective 2 September 2019. Claire has in-depth knowledge of the UK asset management, pensions and insurance landscape, having had a career spanning more than 18 years in financial services. Her most recent executive experience was at Blackrock, where she spent almost 13 years, rising to become managing director – head of UK DC, unit linked and platforms, responsible for strategy, innovation and growth. Claire previously held roles in product management at Henderson Global Investors (2001-2005) and relationship management at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, London (1999-2001).
