Ashurst
Global law firm Ashurst has strengthened its international arbitration team with the appointment of Matthew Saunders as a partner in the dispute resolution practice, based in London. Matthew joins from DLA Piper, where he was global head of its international arbitration group and was one of the partners responsible for founding the practice. He specialises in energy, mining and telecoms cases and has particular experience in bilateral investment treaty cases both for and against sovereign states. Matthew is a member of the London Court of International Arbitration, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
Hardman & Co
Neil Pidgeon has joined blue-chip independent research consultancy Hardman & Co as business development director. Neil has 30 years of City stock broking, corporate finance, investment banking and money raising experience, and has focused on UK small- and mid-caps over the past decade, principally in the natural resources sectors. He joins from stockbroker Whitman Howard.
Mazars
International accountancy firm Mazars has hired Matt Dalton as partner, internal audit & risk management, based in the firm’s London office. Matt joins the firm from EY, where he held a variety of positions. His most recent role involved leading the UK and Ireland energy and assets risk business, working with global companies on their biggest strategic risk issues. Matt’s previous roles gave him extensive experience across Australasia, Europe, North America, India and the Middle East.
Sovereign Capital
UK private equity buy-and-build specialist Sovereign Capital has appointed Skyler Ver Bruggen an analyst. This follows the appointment of Simon Jobson as investment director last month. Prior to joining Sovereign, Skyler was with Skillcapital, a specialist executive search and advisory business-focused exclusively on the private capital industry. She previously worked in the client services team at Ingenious Media.
Momentum Pensions
Paul Forman has joined the UK board of pension specialist and independent pension trustee Momentum Pensions. Paul joined Momentum Pensions in January 2015 and holds the position of head of sales – UK and Europe. He is a is a chartered financial planner and holds fellowship status with the Personal Finance Society.
