City Moves for 23 September – Who’s switching jobs at Finncap, the FCA and Gama Aviation?
Today’s City Moves includes Finncap, the FCA and Gama Aviation.
Finncap
Finncap, an adviser and broker to ambitious growth companies, has announced that it has appointed highly-experienced specialist Leigh Webb to head its private equity sponsor coverage and expand its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory business across the mid-market private equity community. He brings an extensive track record in private equity sponsor coverage and his arrival will further strengthen Finncap’s offering in the mid-market advisory arena with private equity backed businesses, which make up such a significant portion of the growth company landscape. Leigh joins Finncap from business advisory firm RSM where as an associate director he was a key member of the team focused on UK private equity sponsor coverage for a number of years. His most recent experience has focused primarily on mid-market deals. His arrival builds on the expansion of Finncap’s debt advisory team earlier this year with two senior new hires, which enhanced Finncap’s ability to source and structure debt finance for its clients. The debt advisory team works across public and private, sponsored and non-sponsored businesses to advise on the appropriate level of debt to help them accelerate their growth.
The Financial Conduct Authority
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced that Sheree Howard has been appointed as executive director of risk and compliance oversight. Sheree is currently interim director of risk and compliance oversight having joined the FCA as a senior adviser in December 2017. Prior to joining the FCA, Sheree spent more than 25 years in financial services, both in the insurance and banking sectors. During this time, she held a range of senior roles and gained valuable experience of pricing, acquisitions, sales, divestment, risk and compliance alongside the more traditional actuarial roles. Sheree has been a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries since 1994. Sheree replaces Barbara Frohn who left the FCA earlier this year.
Gama Aviation
Gama Aviation has announced Daniel Ruback’s appointment to the post of chief financial officer. Daniel’s appointment will be effective from 16 December 2019 when he will also join the company’s board. Daniel is finance director at Signature Flight Support, a part of BBA Aviation. His responsibilities at Signature included the delivery of the EMEA business plan and strategic objectives, alongside ownership of the financial reporting, control, risk and compliance frameworks. From 2006 to 2015 Daniel worked at Smiths Group, including a two-year assignment as director of operational finance at Smiths Detection USA and finally as head of divisional business partnering. Daniel is a qualified chartered accountant.
