The Asset Based Finance Association
The Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA), the body representing the asset-based finance industry in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, has announced the appointment of Martin Cooper as its new chair. Martin is senior vice president of operations at Firstsource, a business process management provider to organisations in the financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, telecommunications and media sectors. Martin succeeds Peter Ewen, managing director of ABN AMRO Commercial Finance. Before Firstsource, Martin spent more than 25 years at Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance, most latterly as finance director. Also joining ABFA is Tracy Ewen, who has been appointed vice-chair. Tracy is managing director of IGF Invoice Finance, an independent commercial finance provider specialising in the SME market. Tracy previously held senior roles at International Factors, GMAC and Bibby Factors.
REaD Group
REaD Group, a UK independent data communications group, has bolstered its compliance credentials with the appointment of Andrew Bridges as data quality and governance manager. Andrew joins from data-driven loyalty company AIMIA, where he held the role as EMEA data governance manager and led the formation and implementation of a universal governance framework across the company’s European business divisions.
Apam
Melissa Baldwin joins APAM, the specialist independent UK real estate asset and investment manager, as head of operations. Prior to APAM, Melissa worked for over seven years at PwC UK LLP as a finance leader in a number of financial management and business decision support roles across the legal and tax business divisions. Previously, Melissa worked in Australia for 12 years across a variety of industries, providing financial accounting and analyst support services as a management accountant.
AVI Fund Solutions
Alternative investment fund distributor, AVI Fund Solutions, has appointed George Williams as business development executive. George joins from a national energy supplier where he acted as business development and portfolio manager. He brings to the company – which offers turnkey solutions to the intermediary market comprising of life company, discretionary fund management, alternative investment funds and trust services – strong sales and business development experience.
