RateSetter
Marketplace lender RateSetter has appointed Paul Marston as head of SME lending and Angela Yotov as head of legal. Paul joins from Secure Trust Bank, a challenger bank, where he was managing director of the business and commercial division which provides funding for SMEs and property development loans. Prior to that he was a managing director at NatWest RBS, where he was responsible for the business and commercial banking in the south and west of England and Wales. Angela joins from Barclays, where she spent eight years in both the wealth management and investment banking in-house legal teams, specialising in credit and loans. She studied law at Oxford University, trained at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and subsequently worked at Latham & Watkins.
Nexus
Richard Wynn has joined Nexus as head of business development. Richard began his insurance career as a broker with C.E. Heath in 1991 where he placed professional indemnity and financial institutions risks in the London market. He joined brokers Howden in 1997, initially spending 11 years as director of the UK retail division, before stints in Dubai then Singapore as an executive director developing and placing wholesale reinsurance across all lines of business.
GFT Group
Business, design and technology consultants to the investment banking community GFT Group has announced the appointment of John Downing as enterprise architect and programme manager. John joins GFT with over 20 years’ experience as an enterprise architect and programme manager in treasury and investment banking. He has extensive experience of enterprise architecture programme delivery using a global model, and has led engagements with stakeholders based in the UK, US, Europe, the Caribbean and Asia.
Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets
Steven Sewell has been appointed executive director, real estate at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA). He will be London based. With 17 years of experience, Steven was most recently the managing director and chief executive of Federation Centres – now rebranded Vicinity Centres – an ASX-listed Reit with AU$22.7bn (£11.15bn) of Australian shopping centres under management. Prior to this, he spent seven years with Macquarie, latterly as chief exec of Macquarie CountryWide Trust, an ASX-listed Reit which owns shopping centres in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the US. Steven brings to the role significant expertise in real estate funds management, asset management, equity and debt capital markets and M&A transactions.
