Kemp Little
Technology and digital media law firm Kemp Little has announced that Farina Azam has joined the firm as a partner and travel lead, in the firm’s commercial technology team. Farina is a travel law expert specialising in regulatory advice and commercial and consumer contracts for the travel industry. She joins from travel law specialists Travlaw. Her clients include tour operators, online travel agents, hotels, airlines, travel consortia and flight consolidators among others.
Wesleyan
David Stewart has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) of specialist financial services provider Wesleyan. David joined Wesleyan earlier this year from Lloyds Banking Group where he worked for 10 years, most recently as COO for the group services division. He will now play an integral role in delivering Wesleyan’s growth plans with responsibility for transformation, technology, data, customer operations, operational excellence and cyber security for the group. This will be a group executive role reporting into Wesleyan’s recently appointed chief executive officer, Mario Mazzocchi. Prior to Lloyds, David worked at Asda, Phones4U and Mars in a variety of commercial and general management roles.
Cluttons
Property consultancy Cluttons has appointed Chris Jakes as head of lease advisory and compulsory purchase to further boost its offer in this area. Previously at CBRE and Kinney Green, Chris is a RICS registered valuer who brings a wealth of experience in advising both landlord and tenants on rent review and lease renewal negotiations across all commercial sectors throughout the UK and will provide clients with a range of lease advisory services. Chris also has expertise in compulsory purchase and compensation and has advised both acquiring authorities and claimants on major infrastructure and regeneration projects throughout the UK including the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project, Crossrail, HS2 and the Olympic and Legacy CPO. He has experience of arbitration, the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) and ADR having acted as independent valuer at dispute resolution between claimants and acquiring authority on the West Hendon Regeneration CPO.
