Savills
Real estate group Savills has acquired the City investment team from Deloitte Real Estate, led by Jamie Olley. Jamie and his colleagues Thomas Reeves, Jamie Binstock and David McArthur provide investment advisory services focused solely on the City of London. The team will relocate to Savills City office in mid-June, and will work alongside Savills’ existing City investment team. Jamie has over 18 years’ experience in real estate investment, and high profile deals his team has worked on include the sale of the Gherkin for over £700m to Safra and advising Nomura on its disposal of 1 St Martins Le Grand for £171m.
Winckworth Sherwood
Law firm Winckworth Sherwood has appointed Anita Rai to the partnership, expanding its employment practice. She joins from Taylor Vinters, where she has worked since 2010. Anita specialises in senior or board level disputes, complex exits, restrictive covenants and team moves.
Pinsent Masons
Pinsent Masons, the international law firm, has appointed its first external board member and its first chief operating officer. Pauline Egan joins the group’s board as a non-exec board members. She will combine that role with a non-executive appointment at the UK subsidiary of Allied Irish Bank and the governorship of Morley College. Prior to these roles, Pauline was at the Royal Bank of Canada where she worked most recently as head of strategy & business management for the wealth management division. Meanwhile, Alastair Mitchell, a chartered accountant who has worked in professional services for over 30 years, has joined the firm as COO. He previously worked at Linklaters from 1999 to 2012, and spent five years serving as the its UK COO. Alastair joins Pinsent Masons from Holman Fenwick Willam which he joined in 2012 as COO.
Renaissance Villages
Duncan Walker has been appointed managing director of housing provider Renaissance Villages, a wholly owned subsidiary of property investment and development company Helical Bar, where Duncan is currently investment director. He joined the Helical Bar group in 2007 and was appointed to the board as an executive director in 2011. He has over 15 years of experience in the property industry, specialising in real estate investment. Duncan is responsible for the performance and direction of the Renaissance Villages brand and is working with the regional teams to deliver construction, sales, operations and financial targets as the company looks to deliver on its numerous projects across the UK.
