Investec
Investec Securities has announced the appointment of Andrew Whitney to its research team to cover the pharmaceuticals sector. Andrew joins from EY, where he was a senior manager in the corporate finance strategy team, conducting strategy projects and deal diligence in the life sciences and healthcare sectors. He has extensive experience in pharmaceuticals research, having also been with the UBS equities team for five years. Andrew, who started his career at EY working in the transaction advisory service, joins Investec immediately and will work alongside Cora McCallum to build out research coverage.
Serle Court
Commercial and chancery set Serle Court has announced that Richard Wilson QC and Constance McDonnell will be joining chambers from 3 Stone Buildings on 29 February 2016. Richard was called to the Bar in 1996 and takes Silk this year. With 17 years of practice encompassing litigation and a wide range of traditional and commercial chancery, he has a strong emphasis on trusts and probate.Richard is regularly instructed in offshore matters or issues involving private international law. He has appeared in the Supreme Court of Gibraltar, the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. He has also given expert evidence of English law in the Royal Courts of Jersey and Guernsey. Constance possesses high-level expertise in contentious probate, trust disputes, administration of estates and removal of personal representatives. Constance has appeared recently in several highly publicised High Court cases, including a successful probate claim based on undue influence, another successful probate claim by charities concerning a schizophrenic testator, and defending a professional trustee against allegations of breach of trust.
M&G Investments
Rupert Krefting is to succeed Huw Jones who is retiring as head of corporate finance at M&G Investments. Rupert will join in March from Numis Securities, where he is a director in its corporate broking and advisory business. Prior to his move to Numis in 2008, Rupert held senior roles at Investec and Panmure Gordon. He is also a chartered accountant.
RWC Partners
RWC Partners has announced that Gary Tuffield will be joining to develop and grow its business in the UK wholesale market. Tuffield was previously co-head of BNY Mellon’s UK intermediary distribution, having spent 13 years at the company.
