Bibby Line Group
Bibby Line Group has appointed Gaurav Batra as chairman. Gaurav is currently strategy director and also chairs Garic Ltd, Bibby’s plant hire subsidiary. He joined the group in 2013, having previously worked at Virgin Group in corporate development and strategy.
McKay Securities
Real estate investment trust McKay Securities has announced that Richard Grainger will replace David Thomas as chairman when he steps down following the company’s AGM in July. Richard has been an independent non-executive director at McKay since 2014. He is a chartered accountant, and also serves as chairman of debt management group Harrington Brooks and as a senior advisory board member of financial PR and lobbying business MHP. Meanwhile, Job Austen has been appointed to McKay’s board as an independent non-executive director and as a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees with effect from 1 July. In addition, Nick Shepherd, an independent non-executive director since January 2015, will become chairman of McKay’s remuneration committee from the conclusion of the firms’ AGM.
City Financial
City Financial, the independent asset manager, has appointed Stefan Garcia as global head of distribution, to be based in London. Stefan was previously managing director and co-head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Source, which he joined when it was founded in 2009. Before this, he was a senior executive and one of the first employees at ETF Securities in London. Stefan holds an MBA from London Business School and a BA in economics from Brown University.
Ashfords
Law firm Ashfords has appointed Kaya Elkiner as its new head of patents, and said the hire marks the launch of its new international patenting service aimed at companies developing new technology. Kaya joins from Keltie, and has been in private practice for 12 years. His range of work includes patent portfolio due diligence, freedom to operate and patentability assessments, as well as undertaking patent drafting, filing and prosecution in the UK and overseas.
Wilson King Investment Management
Wilson King Investment Management has appointed Richard Hunter as head of research. His previous experience includes careers at Hargreaves Lansdown and NatWest Stockbrokers. In his new role, Richard will provide written market and stock commentary to clients, as well as becoming a member of the Wilson King Investment Committee.
