First Names Group
Trust, fund and corporate services provider, First Names Group, has appointed Teresa Lamy as its new chief HR officer. Teresa joins from TMF Group where she was global head of HR and was responsible for more than 120 offices operating in over 80 countries. Prior to this she was with Equity Trust, where she developed and delivered an HR strategy that provided a framework for the management and development of the organisation. Teresa is a chartered fellow of both the Institute of Personnel Development and the Chartered Institute of Management. She also holds a diploma in company direction from the Institute of Directors.
Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth
Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth, the national legal and wealth advisory business specialising in advising domestic and international complex private and corporate clients, has appointed immigration solicitor Ben Xu. In his new role, he will focus on providing immigration advice to international high-net worth individuals and businesses. Ben previously worked at Joelson Wilson LLP, where he specialised in advising a combination of private and corporate clients on a wide range of immigration matters, including Tier 1 (Entrepreneur/Investor) and Tier 2 (General/Intra Company Transfer) visas, employer’s sponsorship licence applications, representative of overseas business, dependents’ visas, EEA family permits, and judicial reviews.
Silicon Valley Bank
Silicon Valley Bank’s UK Branch has appointed Stephen Lowery as managing director focused on corporate and independent venture capital relationships. Stephen was a partner at Frog Capital for the past five years and has been a private equity investor for 14 years. He joined the team as the third partner to support Frog in its transition from the direct investing team of a significant European entrepreneurial family into an independent manager of third-party capital.
Winckworth Sherwood
Law firm Winckworth Sherwood has strengthened its real estate team with the appointment of Alan Duncan. Alan joins from Mount Anvil, where he was its general counsel and company secretary. Alan joined Mount Anvil in 2013 as general counsel to support its land, development and finance functions in the acquisition and funding of new schemes. Prior to that he was a partner in the real estate practice at Addleshaw Goddard. He brings a detailed understanding of Mount Anvil, already a client of Winckworth Sherwood.
