Trium Capital
Trium Capital, the London-based alternative investment specialist, has hired proven industrials specialist Jonathan Ingram to manage a new developed market, industrials-focused equity market neutral strategy. Jonathan’s appointment is one of several recent high-profile hires for Trium, as the group prepares to unveil a broader proposition to investors. Jonathan has worked on industrials-focused hedge fund strategies for 15 years, managing industrial market neutral strategies at leading asset managers including Bluecrest, Visium and HBK, delivering high alpha returns with a low volatility profile. Prior to this, Jonathan developed in-depth understanding of company operations and reporting as a group accountant for industrial conglomerate Invensys.
Hurricane Energy
Hurricane Energy, the UK based oil and gas company focused on hydrocarbon resources in naturally fractured basement reservoirs, announced that Sandy Shaw has been appointed as non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect. Sandy has over thirty-five years of experience in the oil and gas industry, focused on legal and commercial roles. From 2008 until its takeover in 2013, she was executive director corporate and commercial, and company secretary of Valiant Petroleum, a company of which she was a founder and non-executive director. Sandy has held senior executive positions as group legal counsel and/or commercial director for a number of companies including Consort Resources, Lasmo, Esso Petroleum and Marathon Oil. She is currently a non-executive director of Velocys, an AIM-quoted renewable fuels company.
Jenner & Block
Jenner & Block has elected Lizzie Shimmin, a solicitor advocate with a broad commercial practice, to partner in the London office. Lizzie is among a diverse group of 12 highly-skilled lawyers who have been elevated to partner throughout the firm.
Lizzie has extensive experience advising financial institutions and corporates in a range of complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters, as well as regulatory investigations. She has acted for clients in proceedings before the English High Court, Competition Appeals Tribunal and in a number of international arbitrations conducted under institutional and ad hoc rules. She advises clients on a wide range of commercial issues across various industry sectors, including banking, energy and defence. Lizzie is the third London-based lawyer who has been promoted to partner since the office opened in 2015. Jenner & Block’s London office now has 20 lawyers.
