City Moves for 30 October – who’s switching jobs at Target Fund Managers, Argentex and White & Case
Here’s who’s switching jobs today.
Target Fund Managers
Target Fund Managers, the external manager to Target Healthcare REIT (THRL), the UK-listed specialist investor in purpose-built care homes, is pleased to announce three appointments to support it in its strategy to manage and grow THRL.
Maria Gaurino joins as healthcare director and brings over 18 years of care home management and senior consultancy experience from across the UK. At Target Fund Managers, Maria will primarily be responsible for undertaking thorough healthcare property analysis and reporting.
Mark Langford joins as finance manager from Clydesdale Bank, where he spent six years as finance manager, planning and forecasting, responsible for reviewing and improving operational performance and longer-term commercial strategy, as well as managing complex regulatory and statutory requirements across the bank. He has held senior roles at Shell UK and Vertex Data Science.
Emma Fernandes (pictured) join as senior marketing manager and will work alongside the leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the marketing and communications programme. Emma joins from Prudential and has previously worked at Lloyds, Standard Life Investments and RBS.
Argentex
Argentex, a leading FCA-regulated provider of foreign exchange services to corporate and private clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is pleased to announce Oliver Hemsley as a new investor in the company. Oliver has had a highly successful career as the founder and chief executive of Numis Securities, which he grew to circa 200 employees and a market capitalisation of over £400 million.
Oliver also becomes a member of the Advisory Board, providing strategic support to the Argentex management team, who have overseen $10bn (£7.81bn) of currency transactions in 2017. In addition, Lord Digby Jones, chairman of Argentex’s advisory board will also become an investor in the Company.
White & Case
Global law firm White & Case has expanded its global banking practice with the addition of Julia Smithers Excell as a new partner in London. Smithers Excell joins White & Case from JPMorgan Chase, where she served as executive director and assistant general counsel in the corporate and investment bank in London. She has extensive experience advising stakeholders in a number of key areas, including Brexit-related issues and CCP recovery and resolution.
Smithers Excell has worked across regulatory jurisdictions around the globe including Paris, Zurich and Singapore, in addition to London. During her career, she has worked at a number of large investment banks and law firms.
