Baker & McKenzie
Global law firm Baker & McKenzie has appointed Alex Chadwick as managing partner of the London office. The term is for three years, effective from 1 September 2016. Alex, a tax partner, joined Baker & McKenzie as a trainee in 1990 and made partner in 1999. He currently heads the firm's Tax Practice Group in London and also sits on Baker & McKenzie's Europe tax transactions steering committee. Alex will succeed Paul Rawlinson who was recently elected as global chairman, Baker & McKenzie and will take office in October 2016 when Eduardo Leite steps down.
Horwich Farrelly
Horwich Farrelly, the specialist insurance industry law firm, has appointed Thomas Reynard as its chief operating officer. Thomas joins Horwich Farrelly from Premex Group. Previously, he held senior financial and operational positions at Parabis Group and PwC. In his new role, Thomas is taking on responsibility for harmonising Horwich Farrelly’s processes and practices to support its continued growth. In particular, he will oversee the firm’s continuing investment in systems, processes and reporting.
Haynes Publishing
Haynes Publishing has appointed Nina Wright and Stephen Daykin as non-executive directors. Nina is currently the managing director of the Built Environment within UBM EMEA, a leading business-to-business events, publications and digital media Company. Over the last 22 years, she has held a number of positions within the UBM Group and the Builder Group, a company acquired by UBM in 2005. Stephen is currently the chief financial officer of Bigballs Media, a sports based digital video business based in London and New York. Steve trained with PWC and has held a number of executive and non-executive positions in both listed and private companies. Steve has over 30 years' experience in media, digital and turnaround businesses.
M&G Real Estate
M&G Real Estate, the real estate fund management arm of M&G Investments, has appointed Marc Reijnen as head of asset management to lead its Continental European Asset Management team. He will report to Tony Brown, chief investment officer at M&G Real Estate. Marc was previously a fund management director and member of the Country Board (France) at CBRE Global Investors – having previously held roles at ING REIM, Grosvenor CE and CB Richard Ellis.
