City Moves for 28 February – who’s switching jobs at AT Kearney, JLL and Bee Midtown?
Who’s on the move today?
AT Kearney
AT Kearney, the management consulting firm, has appointed Simon Kent as global head of financial services. He joined as a partner in its London headquarters in 2013 from Navigant, where he was head of financial services. With over 25 years’ experience of advising financial services clients, Simon will be tasked with growing the firm’s footprint in the financial services sector globally and leading its investment into the sector. It has a strong track record of advising financial services brands, with a focus on the banking, insurance and payments markets, working on projects that underpin the CEO agenda and that typically involve strategic operational and digital transformation. Simon said: “Financial services companies are a vital element of the economy and a force for good when they get it right. It’s no secret that the industry has faced well-documented challenges over the past decade. It has taken – and continues to take – major strides to transform itself. AT Kearney’s global financial services team works with brands around the world to transform their operations for competitive advantage and create long–term success, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of delivering growth for the firm in these areas.”
JLL
JLL has appointed Andrew O’Donnell UK real estate and workplace director. Andrew will work closely with JLL’s operations, smart buildings, workplace strategy and Tetris teams to deliver improvements across its UK workplaces and building facilities. He joins from EY, where, as EMEIA real estate leader, he delivered solutions to 90,000 people across nine million sq ft of office space. Richard Howling, UK chief operating officer, said: “Andrew’s passion for innovation in real estate and his 16 years of experience managing large-scale change programmes was why we recruited him as we continue to progress our own workplace strategy. Andrew said: “I am excited to be joining a company that is putting the latest ideas into action.”
Bee Midtown
BEE Midtown, the central London business improvement district (BID) company, has appointed Alexander Jan, the chief economist of Arup, the engineering and professional services group, as its non-executive chair. He has many years of experience of working with BIDs and London government. He was a member of the Mayor of London’s infrastructure delivery board and more recently spearheaded a report into good growth across the West End. BEE Midtown represents over 400 businesses in an area covering Holborn, Bloomsbury, St Giles, Farringdon and Clerkenwell. Alexander said: “I am thrilled to be joining BEE Midtown at such a crucial time for business and the other communities.”
