Nexus Underwriting Management Group
Stuart Rouse has been appointed chief operating officer and chief financial officer (CFO) at the underwriting firm. He has previously served as CFO of Fusion Insurance, CFO of Towergate Underwriting, chief operating officer of Towergate Financial, CFO of Aspen’s managing agency and its insurance division, and latterly group chief operating officer of HW Wood, the insurance broking group.
WisdomTree
Nizam Hamid has been appointed head of sales for Europe at the exchange-traded fund (ETF) and product provider. He has previously served as managing director for portfolio and index strategy at Deutsche Bank, head of sales strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at BlackRock, and as head of ETF strategy and deputy head of ETFs at Lyxor Asset Management.
Howard Kennedy
The law firm has appointed Richard Burt as head of real estate operations. He joins from Begbies Traynor Group, where he was operations partner and led its forensic, risk, and investigations teams. Burt has also held roles at EY.
Pluto Finance
The residential development lender has announced two appointments. Nishil Tanna has been appointed lending manager. He joins from Santander. Gavin Morrison also becomes a lending manager. He joins from Barclays.
Edison
The equity advisory firm has announced three UK equity analyst appointments. Neil Basten joins its industrials team from USS Investment Management, where he was head of the UK smaller companies team. He has also held roles at Allianz Dresdner Asset Management and Aviva Investors. Lucy Codrington joins Edison’s healthcare team from SC Strategy, where she was head of business research. Codrington has also practised medicine in the NHS. Finally, Eric Opara joins the technology team from M&G Investments, where he was an investment specialist in the global equities team. Opara has also worked as an economist for the UK Government Economic Service.
Weber Shandwick
The public relations firm has announced the appointment of David Skelton as head of its UK public affairs practice. He most recently founded Renewal, a think tank that aims to broaden the appeal of the Conservative Party. Skelton has also held roles at Policy Exchange and PA Consulting.
