HSBC
David Phythian has been appointed head of corporate real estate for the bank in the UK. He joined HSBC in 2006 and was head of its London corporate real estate office. Phythian has also held roles at UCB Bank, the United Bank of Kuwait, and a number of private property companies.
Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research
Jamie Farquhar has been appointed director of business development at the investment consulting and research firm. He joins from JP Morgan Asset Management, where he was head of strategic relationships. Farquhar has over 25 years’ industry experience, and has held senior positions at F&C Asset Management, Bankhall Investment Associates, and Aviva Wrap.
State Bank of India
Sanjiv Chadha has been appointed regional head for the UK at the bank. He transfers to London from India, where he was the State Bank of India’s (SBI) general manager for retail banking. Chadha has also worked for SBI in Los Angeles, and was head of mergers and acquisitions and private equity for its investment banking arm.
Baring Asset Management
The asset manager has appointed Jean-Louis Scandella as co-manager of its Global Emerging Markets Fund, alongside his role as head of equities. He joined Barings in May 2014 from Comgest. Scandella has 19 years’ experience in emerging market equities.
Northland Capital Partners
The investment bank has appointed Vadim Alexandre as deputy head of research and director of healthcare research. He has over 10 years’ experience in capital markets, specialising in healthcare, and joins from Daniel Stewart & Company, where he headed the research department.
Towers Watson
The professional services firm has announced three appointments in its executive compensation business. Jessica Norton joins as a director from EY. She has 15 years’ experience advising companies, and has also held positions at Deloitte. Alasdair Wood is promoted to director. He has worked at Towers Watson since 2012, and has also held roles at Deloitte Australia and Towers Perrin. Suzanne Bliss is also promoted to director. She joined Towers Watson in 2007 via the firm’s acquisition of MGMC.
