Legal & General Capital
Legal & General Capital has appointed Lauren Aitchison as head of strategic land. Reporting to James Lidgate, director of housing, Lauren will lead the management and utilisation of LGC’s extensive land portfolio with potential for residential and commercial uses. Lauren will also be looking to identify new land investment opportunities, to align with the LGC’s focus on the residential sector. She was previously land manager at Lands Improvement Holdings, a company specialising in unlocking the value of its strategic land bank totalling 13,000 plots. She was previously a partner with Strutt & Parker in its national development team, responsible for residential and mixed use schemes, acting on behalf of landowners, housebuilders, property companies and institutional clients.
K&L Gates
The London office of global law firm K&L Gates has added Barry Cosgrave as a partner in the firm’s global finance practice. Barry, who joins K&L Gates from Shearman & Sterling, is the second new partner addition to the firm’s London finance practice in just a month. Barry’s experience includes distressed debt and restructuring, debt capital markets, structured finance, and Islamic finance. He has significant Middle East experience, having also practiced in Dubai for a number of years. In his new role, Barry will focus on distressed debt and the Middle East. Barry’s addition follows the July arrival of fellow London finance partner Mayank Gupta from Mayer Brown.
Proskauer
International law firm Proskauer has appointed Vikki McKay as a partner in the firm’s Private Equity Real Estate Group in London. Vikki's practice focuses on UK and cross-border investments in the real estate sector for private equity firms, large international companies and ultra-high net worth offshore individuals. She advises across a broad range of real estate investment classes, including logistics, office and leisure assets. Her move to the firm follows the recent addition of Private Equity Real Estate partner Joanne Owen in June, with whom Vikki worked closely at her prior firm.
Harrods
Luxury department store Harrods has promoted its fashion director Helen David to the role of chief merchant. Helen joined Harrods in 2008, and has since been responsible for the creation of some of our most ambitious and successful projects including Shoe Heaven, Superbrands, Mini Superbrands and the evolution of our iconic Fine Jewellery rooms. Under her leadership Harrods has significantly improved its offerings spanning luxury fashion, accessories, and fine Jewellery. This appointment is Helen’s fourth major promotion since joining Harrods eight years ago.
