BCG Digital Ventures
BCG Digital Ventures (BCGDV), the global corporate venture, investment and incubation arm of Boston Consulting Group, has announced that Ella Rabener will join BCGDV in London as a partner and managing director in June. With this addition, the company, which specialises in launching new digital businesses, will further strengthen its management team adding one of the most renowned German startup and tech entrepreneurs. Ella previously joined fintech company Scalable Capital as a co-founder in 2015. Prior to her role at Scalable, she was responsible for setting up the Russia and Kazakhstan operation of the now-listed online home and living platform Westwing. Ella holds a doctorate in economics and will bring her expertise in digital user experience, marketing, fintech, logistics, and e-commerce.
Finastra
Finastra has announced the appointment of Mark Miller as chief financial officer (CFO) effective 13 May 2019. Mark is a seasoned finance executive, with nearly 25 years of global technology, finance and operational experience. He has worked at several industry-leading companies including Marketo, where he was CFO, and travel technology firm Sabre Corporation, where he spent 18 years in a number of leadership and executive roles including CFO. He also has valuable previous experience working with Vista Equity Partners and the software company Active Network. Over the course of his career, Mark has consistently driven operational and financial excellence. Based out of Paddington, London, he will be a member of the Finastra executive leadership team and will report directly to chief executive officer Simon Paris. Mark has an MBA in finance from Rice University, Houston, Texas. He is also a certified public accountant. Mark replaces Rob Binns, who has decided to step down from his role. Rob served as CFO of Finastra (formerly Misys) for three years.
CISI
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has announced the appointment of Karen Ashcroft as its new global director of finance. Prior to joining the CISI Karen was head of finance and company secretary with GAN in London, and before that, group financial controller at Euromoney Institutional Investor. After graduating from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand Karen qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young, Christchurch. She enjoys travelling in her spare time and has taken a career break during which she trekked in the Himalayas, through parts of Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal. She also enjoys running and watching rugby.
