UHY Hacker Young
UHY Hacker Young, the national accountancy group, has appointed Myles Jacobson as partner in its Turnaround & Recovery team in London. Myles has over two decades of experience working in insolvency and restructuring and joins from specialist business recovery practice Streets SPW, where he was a partner. He previously worked for top ten firms BDO and Baker Tilly.
In his previous roles, Myles has advised businesses across numerous sectors, including motor, construction and retail. Myles is a licensed insolvency practitioner, and sits on the smaller practices group and London and south east region committees of R3, the trade association and representative body for the UK’s insolvency, restructuring and business advisory industry. He also sits on the member services committee of the insolvency practitioners association, a licensing body for insolvency practitioners.
Panmure Gordon
Panmure Gordon today announces Robert Plant is joining as a business and support services research analyst. Robert has more than 18 years of equity research experience and has been consistently highly-ranked in key published analyst surveys, both individually and with his team.
Robert joins Panmure Gordon from Edison Investment Research. He previously worked for 14 years at JP Morgan Cazenove (JPMC), latterly as head of European Business Services Equity Research. At JPMC, Robert led coverage on 25 companies and worked on several IPOs. Before joining JPMC he worked at Exel in a strategy role and at Cazenove as a European transport analyst.
McCarthy Denning
Law firm McCarthy Denning has appointed partner Julia Bracewell OBE to its management board as the firm embarks on further expansion. Julia joined McCarthy Denning as a partner in the summer of 2015, specialising in corporate and financial law, and has been one of the firm’s top-performing lawyers over the last three years. She has over 25 years of experience advising on cross-border matters.
Earlier this year, the firm expanded its energy team with the addition of lawyers Robin Storey and Stacey Kivel, who joined the firm as partners from in-house roles as well as extending the firm’s IP expertise with the appointment of Clive Thorne. The Corporate Team, of which Julia is an integral part, has seen a number of successes including advising Curzon Energy on the admission of its shares to the Standard List to trade on the main market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and advising clients on cross border leveraged and merger transactions.
