K&L Gates
The London office of global law firm K&L Gates has added Mayank Gupta as a partner in the firm’s global finance practice. He joins K&L Gates from Mayer Brown in London. With experience spanning leveraged finance, corporate finance, sovereign lending, and emerging markets, Mayank acts for both institutional lenders and multinational borrowers on transactions across a range of jurisdictions and sectors, including healthcare; real estate, energy, infrastructure & resources, and telecoms. He previously practiced in Hong Kong and Australia. Mayank is the second partner addition to the practice in as many months, following the June arrival of New York and Pittsburgh partner Vanessa Spiro.
Playtech
Claire Milne has been appointed an independent non-executive director at gambling software company Playtech. She will join Playtech’s remuneration committee, risk and compliance committee, audit committee, and nominations committee. Claire joins the company's board as a recognised industry expert in eGaming and technology law and regulation, with 20 years’ experience advising gaming and financial services clients as an in-house and private practice lawyer. She is currently a partner and team leader within the intellectual property and science and technology teams for Appleby in the Isle of Man.
TotalMobile
Jim Darragh, the former CMO Compliance CEO, has been appointed as CEO of Belfast-based TotalMobile, the mobile software provider. Jim’s appointment is part of ambitious plans to treble the size of the business in the next three to five years. He has 20 years' experience and was previously CEO of Ipanema Technologies, the WAN optimisation company acquired by InfoVista, CEO of Zeus Technology, which was acquired by Riverbed and senior vice president at SAP.
UBS Asset Management
UBS Asset Management has appointed Michael Baldinger as head of sustainable and impact investing. In this newly created role, Michael will be responsible for establishing a world-class sustainable and impact investing business across asset classes. Michael joins UBS AM after seven years at RobescoSAM, an international investment company focused on sustainability investments, where he held the position as CEO from 2011-2016. Prior to this, he was head of distribution for the Americas at Credit Suisse Asset Management and spent 10 years in Equity Sales at Bear Stearns and Deutsche Bank.
