Grant Thornton
The business advisory firm has announced the appointment of Richard Milnes as a partner in its financial services tax team. He joins from EY, and has previously worked in international tax for Shell and as head of tax planning at Lloyds.
Coutts
The bank has recruited Matthew Spencer as executive director and head of intermediaries in its UK business development team. He was most recently at Credit Suisse Private Bank, where he was a director and head of intermediaries. Prior to that, he was head of private client and charities marketing at Jupiter Asset Management.
Herbert Smith Freehills
The law firm has hired Tom Leech QC as a partner in its Advocacy group in London. He previously worked at Maitland Chambers.
Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management
Philip Poole has joined the asset management business as head of research. He was formerly global head of macro and investment strategy at HSBC Global Asset Management. Before that, he worked on sovereign debt restructurings at ING Barings and Barclays.
Commerzbank
The bank has hired Jochen Muller as managing director and UK country manager for its corporate client business. He has worked in its group development and strategy division since 2011. Muller has previously held roles at UBS and Lehman Brothers.
Pictet Asset Management
Luke Chua has joined the asset management company as a senior investment manager in its London-based emerging corporate bonds division. He was most recently at Schroder Investment Management, where he managed its emerging markets corporate bond fund in Singapore.
Canaccord Genuity
The wealth management firm has made three appointments. Charlotte Keyworth joins as an aerospace and defence analyst from Oriel Securities. Harry Philips joins as a capital goods analyst from Oriel Securities, and has previously worked at Investec. Arun George joins as a technology analyst from Edison Investment Research.
