EY
The professional services firm has appointed Omar Ali as its new UK financial services leader. He replaces Chris Price, who will lead EY’s global people advisory services. Ali was previously UK banking and capital markets leader. He joined EY in 2001, becoming a partner at the age of 29 in 2006. He began his career in banking at Natwest, before co-founding TheRumour, a payments and lifestyle startup. He will become a member of the EY UK board.
DEUTSCHE BANK
Stephen Paine will join the bank as its global head of infrastructure and utilities. Paine joins from UBS where he spent over 20 years – most recently as global head of infrastructure, power & utilities.
LENDINVEST
The online marketplace has appointed Roy Armitage as its first head of credit. Armitage has almost 40 years’ mortgage and retail financial services experience. Most recently, he was at Investec. He has also worked for Halifax, JP Morgan and Kensington Mortgages.
WHITE & CASE
Jonathan Pickworth has joined the law firm as a partner, expanding its global white collar practice. He joins White & Case from Dechert, and brings more than 27 years of experience.
BUCHANAN
The WPP-owned communications agency has appointed Giles Sanderson as deputy chairman and partner. Sanderson has been advising on financial communications since 1993, joining Financial Dynamics in 1994. He has also worked for FTI Consulting and Powerscourt.
PEMBERTON
The independent asset management group, which is backed by Legal and General, has appointed Mike Anderson as head of investor relations. With 14 years’ of experience, he joins from Intermediate Capital.
GUNNERCOOKE
The law firm has appointed Anna Beaumont as chief executive. She was its first partner by appointment, joining in 2011.
HENLEY
The private equity real estate investor has appointed Tom Tippetts as managing director of its newwest division, Henley Camland. Previously director of land at Places for People, Tippetts has also held positions at Cofton Group, David Wilson Homes and Beazer Homes.
