The broking, advisory and trading house has appointed Edward Knight as head of media in its corporate team. He has 15 years’ experience in equity capital markets and investment banking, and has held senior positions at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
Allen & Overy
Matthias Baudisch has been appointed partner in the law firm’s London office as part of its European high yield practice. He joins from Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he worked on capital market transactions in connection with leveraged buyouts and debt financings, initial public offerings and secondary equity offerings, as well as M&A.
J O Hambro Capital Management
The asset manager has appointed Luis Faňanas ahead of the launch of its European Concentrated Value strategy. He was previously a senior member of the global small-mid cap team focused on European stocks at T Rowe Price. Faňanas has also held roles at Deutsche Bank.
GMT Communications Partners
The private equity group has announced three promotions. Natalie Tydeman becomes senior partner. She joined GMT in 2007, and has previously held senior roles at Fremantle Media and Fox Kids Europe. Vikram Krishna becomes partner. He joined in 2005, and was formerly a manager at PwC. Francois Stoessel becomes a principle. He has also held roles at KKR and Deutsche Bank.
Duff & Phelps
The valuation and corporate finance advisory firm has appointed Henry Smithers as director in its M&A team in London. He previously co-founded a venture-backed mobile application, and has also held positions at Starwood Capital, JP Morgan, and Gleacher Shacklock.
Capita Asset Services
Capita’s corporate, treasury, debt, shareholder, fund and private client solutions business has appointed James Wright as head of its new real estate finance business. He joins from CBRE Debt & Structured Finance, and has also held roles at Anglo Irish Bank. He will work alongside Tracey Folkes, who joined Capita in 2009.
Virgin Media Business
The telecoms and internet provider has appointed Rob Orr as director of large sales. He was formerly vice president of European telecoms operations at Samsung, and has also held senior positions at RIM.
