Christophe Girondel has been appointed global head of institutional clients at the asset management firm, in addition to his role as global head of wholesale fund distribution. Girondel has 18 years’ finance experience, and is a member of Nordea Asset Management’s executive committee.
Brown Rudnick
The law firm has appointed Alex Carter-Silk as partner and head of its European intellectual property practice in London. He has 25 years’ experience advising on contentious and non-contentious intellectual property and technology matters.
AXA Investment Managers
Daoyu Chen has been appointed UK liability driven investments (LDI) portfolio manager at the investment management firm. She joins from Goldman Sachs, where she traded sterling interest rate swaps and cross currency swaps for over five years.
UP Communications
The newly-launched communications agency has appointed Steven Day as chairman. He has held communications-focused board positions at Virgin Mobile, Orange and EE, and is also a former deputy editor of the Sunday Express.
Skrill Group
The payment technology provider has appointed David Clarke as chief financial officer (CFO). He joins from Lebara Mobile, where he was group CFO. Clarke is also a former CFO for Europe, Middle East and Africa at PayPal.
HgCapital
The private equity investor has announced 15 internal promotions. The appointments include Andrew Land, who becomes partner in the services team. He joined from Och-Ziff Capital Management in 2011. Simon Cottle and Thorsten Toepfer become directors in the services team. Sebastien Briens and David Issott become directors within the Mercury TMT team. Further, Luis Quiroga has been promoted to director in the renewable power partners team. He joined HgCapital from Credit Suisse in 2009.
Orrick
The law firm has announced the appointment of Michael Crosby as a partner in its English law banking and finance practice group. He was formerly head of Proskauer’s English law finance practice.
