Chelsea hand Patrick Bamford deal and loan move
CHELSEA striker Patrick Bamford insists it was an easy decision to join Crystal Palace on loan next season.
Bamford, who won the Championship Player of the Year award after netting 19 times during a spell at Middlesbrough last term, has also signed a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
“It was an easy decision in the end,” said the 21-year-old. “I was keen to stay close to London this time and Palace was my first choice.
“I’m delighted to sign a new contract with Chelsea. My dream has always been to be a part of the club in the long term. Joining Crystal Palace is the next step in my career.”
Tottenham, meanwhile, have sold French midfielder Benjamin Stambouli to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee believed to be around £6m.
Stambouli, 25, only joined from Montpellier last summer but started just four Premier League games and had also been linked with top-flight newcomers Watford.
