Chaos on the Tube ahead of rush hour this evening with severe delays on the Hammersmith & City, District, Circle, Piccadilly and Victoria lines.
There is severe disruption across London's underground network this afternoon, with severe delays on the Hammersmith & City, District, Circle, Piccadilly and Victoria lines.
The Hammersmith & City, District and Circle line services have been affected by an accident at Shepherd's Bush Market station earlier today, in which a man died after being struck by a train. The station was subsequently evacuated and closed.
British Transport Police (BTP) said: "A man has sadly died after he was struck by a train at Shepherd's Bush Market Underground station this afternoon."
Officers from BTP were called to the station just before 1pm, along with the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.
A man was treated for serious injuries at the scene, police said, but despite best efforts was later sadly pronounced dead.
Officers are now working to identify the man and inform his family. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
