Championship races may be tighter fought affairs than Sporting predict
Sporting Index have produced a host of special bets for this year’s Festival and are predicting that the aggregate winning distances for the 26 races over the next four days will be between 96 and 104 lengths.
However, I’m more keen on their quote for aggregate winning distances for the four Championship races. They are currently quoting 19-21 lengths which may well be a decent sell. The same market made up at 21.95 last year and 28 the year before that, but those make-ups include demolition jobs by Master Minded and then Kauto Star respectively. It may be a better gauge to look at the two previous make-ups of 6.75 and 4.6 to see that the sell looks the most attractive option.
I’m not expecting a wide margin winner of this afternoon’s Champion Hurdle and Big Buck’s will probably do it the hard way in the World Hurdle on Thursday. If you, like me, feel that Master Minded is not the horse he was, we may be in a position to lock in a profit before Kauto Star even runs.
