CBI hires new office in the City after 30 years in the West End
THE CONFEDERATION of British Industry (CBI) today revealed it is moving to the City in the New Year, a major symbolic move reflecting the important of financial services in the capital.
The leading business lobby group has been based in Centre Point in the West End for more than 30 years, making its move east to Cannon Place a big decision.
“We are delighted to have found Cannon Place – it is a great building in a prime location with easy access to transport links for our members and our staff,” said CBI director general John Cridland.
“Next spring really will be a time of renewal as we mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the CBI’s history.”
The group is hiring 25,000 square feet on the fourth floor of the building above Cannon Street station and is understood to be paying £59 per square foot.
“Attracting the UK’s most prominent business organisation is a real coup, and we’re thrilled to welcome the CBI to Cannon Place,” said Mark Swetman from real estate firm Hines.
