Volvo stays at the head of the safety queue
Volvo has announced prices for its all-new Volvo V40, the first car in the world to feature an innovative pedestrian airbag to help protect pedestrians in an impact. The five-door, five-seat premium hatchback will cost from £19,745 on the road. The D2 version of the new V40 model has CO2 emissions of 94g/km and 78.5mpg (combined) is possible.
Mercedes-Benz unveils details of its ML63 AMG
Mercedes-Benz has said its ML63 AMG will cost £82,995. Powered by a 525bhp 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 engine – which will see it accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds – the flagship M-Class SUV has a combined fuel economy of 23.9 mpg, and CO2 emissions of 276g/km. Self-levelling air and sport suspension systems improve ride and handling.
Citroen Numero 9 concept to hit Beijing show
This is the new Citroën Numéro 9 concept, which will be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show. The executive saloon concept will become the DS9 and will compete against rivals including the BMW 5-series. With an elegant-looking shooting brake body style, the concept is powered by a plug-in full-hybrid powertrain; 166mpg and just 39g/km of CO2 emissions are claimed possible.
