British superyacht sector cruises ahead with revenue up by 10pc
Superyachts are riding the wave of the UK’s economic recovery, research released today shows.
The British superyacht industry’s revenue grew to £542m in 2014/15, up by 10.2 per cent from last year, according to statistics from trade body Superyacht UK.
The research also shows that the industry now employs 4,000 full time workers, up 6.9 per cent year-on-year.
“The success is testament to our long standing heritage in the superyacht sector combined with the breadth of areas in which the UK has continued to excel,” said Mike Carr, chairman of Superyacht UK and joint managing director of Pendennis Shipyard in Cornwall.
