Brexit braying leaves Brits hunting for breaks as holiday searches for 23 June soar 35 per cent
Brits are becoming bored of Brexit as holiday searches for 23 June climb by 35 per cent over last year.
Data from Hotels.com shows an increase in holiday searches over last year, with destinations in Europe topping the ranking increases.
Searches to Barcelona are up by almost 100 per cent on this time last year. There has been a near 70 per cent increase in people looking to book Amsterdam and an almost 75 per cent increase in searches for the German capital of Berlin.

Non-EU destinations such as New York, up nearly 30 per cent, Las Vegas, up around 20 per cent, and Tokyo, 30 per cent up, did not perform quite as well as top European spots.
Market traders it seems have also taken a break from Brexit, with calm descending on the City ahead of the polls opening tomorrow.
There has also been a drop in searches to UK destinations, as Brits seemingly opt to jet off abroad. Edinburgh searches fell by 30 per cent, while Manchester searches declined 20 per cent. For Glasgow searches dropped off by around five per cent.

Whether it’s the frankly abysmal weather we’ve been having or a desire to get away from all the talk of Brexit, we’ve definitely noticed an increase in UK searches for hotel check-ins on the day of the EU Referendum. It looks like some Brits might prefer to join the Brexodus to sunnier climes.
