Thousands of Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers locked out of their accounts
Thousands of customers have reported that they are locked out of their Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland’s internet banking services and apps.
Over 1000 people had reported issues with the Lloyds website by 11am today, according to Down Detector, which monitors IT issues at large consumer-facing companies.
1,100 people reported issues with Halifax by that time and 153 reports came in for Bank of Scotland.
The problems all stem to Lloyds Banking Group – which owns all three banking providers.
Several customers tweeted about their trouble accessing the apps and making essential payments online.
One user said: “@LloydsBank Unable to access online banking and the app for the past hour. Any timeframe for this to be solved? Tried several browsers, closing the app on and off wifi with no luck.”
Another tweeted: “Still the same. App shows my account balances everywhere is 0.00 and Desktop just doesn’t allow to get in showing error.”
