Boris hits Twitter launching new yellow Barclays bikes and professing love for the Queen
London’s favourite blonde bombshell took to Twitter this afternoon, with a new, grown-up profile pic, launching a yellow Barclays bike and answering questions from the Twittersphere.
The canary-hued bikes, 101 of them to be exact, are to celebrate Le Tour de France’s British leg on 7 June (not because Barclays is ending its sponsorship – the bikes will remain blue Barclays Cycles until 2018).
Boris announced the news on Twitter with a lovely shot of him cycling the yellow contraptions in the rain, sporting a fetching beanie. It’s almost certainly Instagramed. Such a hipster.
He ploughed into a Twitter Q&A, inviting questions from the masses.
They ranged from cerebrally challenging enquiries like, “Who’s your favourite Londoner?” – “The Queen” came the response. Very sensible.
He made a somewhat interesting suggestion about where the Freddie Mercury statue from Tottenham Court Road should go (we can’t forgive that awful management speak though).
The conversation touched on classic cars…
To difficult questions about everyone’s favourite tube line.
And that old Heathrow debate.
Before segueing nicely into a personal question from his dealer…
A good day at the office really.
