Blues win Euro Youth League
CHELSEA enhanced their reputation for producing some of England’s top age-group sides yesterday when the club’s Under-19s were crowned champions of Europe.
The Blues beat Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk 3-2 in the Uefa Youth League final in Nyon, Switzerland.
Captain Izzy Brown, who was promoted to the first team earlier this year and was on the bench for Sunday’s Premier League win at Queens Park Rangers, scored twice, while striker Dominic Solanke continued his recored of netting in every round by scoring the other.
Chelsea’s Under-18s are due to continue the defence of their FA Youth Cup crown next week when they take on Manchester City in the first match of a two-legged final.
