Blues make massive bid for Kaka, say Milan
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says the Italian giants have received “an astronomical offer” from Chelsea for Brazilian star Kaka.
The playmaker has been linked with a record move to Stamford Bridge since his fellow countryman Luis Felipe Scolari took over as manager last month.
Milan, however, have stated the 26- year-old World Player of the Year is not for sale, while Kaka himself, insists he wants to stay at the club.
Indeed, in a frank interview, Galliani also claims that reported Milan target Ronaldinho has rejected a move to Manchester City and says it is “useless” meeting Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to discuss the possibility of luring Emmanuel Adebayor to the San Siro, due to Arsenal’s £36m valuation of the Togo striker.
Galliani also admitted that he has received offers for Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo, although it is unclear whether any interest has been shown by Premier League clubs.
“We received an astronomical offer from Chelsea for Kaka.” Galliani told an Italian newspaper.
“For Pirlo, there have been many requests. As for him, neither Pirlo nor his agent have come in to my office asking for an improvement in his salary.”
On unwanted Barcelona star Ronaldinho, Galliani added: “The problem is the salary. To pay him his salary it would mean his arrival would not cost much.
“Ronaldinho rejected Man City’s offer, who were ready to give him double what we had offered.”
While it appears Milan are now going head-to-head with Chelsea for the signature of Ronaldinho, it seems Galliani has given up hope of adding Arsenal’s Adebayor to the ranks.
Wenger fixed a meeting in Nice, but it’s useless that I go.” he went on. “He told me he wants €45m (£35.6m) – an impossible sum.
