BlackBerry executives depart as CEO widens top level shake-up
NEW INTERIM chief executive John Chen will work directly with BlackBerry’s marketing and engineering teams after the struggling smartphone maker announced its operations chief and marketing chief will leave as part of the ongoing reorganisation of the company.
“I look forward to working more directly with the talented teams of engineers, and the sales and marketing teams around the world to facilitate the BlackBerry turn-around and to drive innovation,” Chen said on the announcement yesterday.
Operations chief Kristian Tear and head of marketing Frank Boulben will not be replaced as part of the reorganisation.
Brian Bidulka will also step down as the company’s finance chief, and will be replaced by James Yersh.
BlackBerry said further details of the reorganisation would be revealed at the company’s third quarter results on 20 December.
