Black Friday 2015 UK: Where and when to get the best discounts is already being hinted at by Tesco, Currys PC World, John Lewis and Amazon
Brace yourselves: Black Friday is coming.
Last year's retail bonanza-cum-bun-fight is back.
This year it will be taking place on 27 November, meaning there are less than eight weeks to go. In 2014, it was the biggest single day for online sales of the year, and retailers are falling over themselves to make sure they capture that cash.
Savvy shoppers will no doubt be looking to avoid some of the tussles (and all-out-violence) that descended on British high streets. To that end retailers are promising “hassle-free” shopping for the second run of the day of discounts.
Electricals retailer Currys PC World is promising it won't be beaten on price on “everything from computers, TVs and home audio to cookers, fridges and washing machines”.
It promises that it will match competitors including Argos, Asda, John Lewis, Tesco and AO.com, but you have to register your interest in its deals now.
Department store John Lewis is also gearing up for round two.
“At John Lewis our commitment to being Never Knowingly Undersold means that we match our competitors' prices all year round – so on this day, we'll have even more deals to enjoy,” it says.
Amazon is also warming up to the event it is arguably responsible for bringing to the UK. Its website proclaims: “Black Friday 2015 will be here before you know it and be even more exciting than Black Friday 2014.”
“Come back in November to find the best early Black Friday sales you won't want to miss. Just like last year you will find great deals in electronics, video games, clothing and more.”
Tesco is simply saying “Come back in November 2015 for our Black Friday deals”.
