Big Buck’s completes hat-trick
BIG BUCK’S completed a World Hurdle hat-trick yesterday to cement his place as one of the greatest staying hurdlers of all time.
Jockey Ruby Walsh guided the 10-11 favourite home to the delight of trainer Paul Nicholls and the legions of punters that backed the unbeaten star.
“He is as close to unbeatable as a jumps horse can be,” said Walsh. “He’s like American legend Cigar on the Flat. He’s just a special horse.”
St Patrick’s day at the Gloucestershire track began well for the Irish with AP McCoy winning the opener aboard Noble Prince.
Beuna Vista recreated her 2010 triumph in the Pertemps Final, winning the three-mile handicap for the second consecutive year. Alberta’s Run triumphed in the Ryanair Chase before 25-1 outsider Holmwood Legend won the Byrne Group Plate Handicap.
